Students studying abroad are not “rich or wealthy”. They are not plucking money, what they are doing is studying, working on campus (U.S) and collecting minimum wage. If they remember you and give you money, God bless their heart.

Students don’t really have money. They only have enough to pay their bills and solve some few things. 

It’s harder for people without funding. Or people who still have to pay some fees in school. 

U.S is a different situation, you can’t work outside the school (unless there’s a very serious economic issue and you’ll need to work that out with the ISS, very rare occasion). We can only work on campus and the wage is very minimum. The worth is minimum in the currency. 

Students spend in the currency of the country they are in. You can’t be calculating someone’s stipend in naira because they are not spending in naira. 

Prepare your minds. You’re not coming to get rich as a student. You’re coming to study and create a mapping route for yourself. 

Be merciful with your family members abroad. Be they students or workers. Be gracious to them.
